A recent news report highlights several non-profit organizations that are taking advantage of electronic media and seeing positive results.

 

Interesting statistics from the article:

 

·         Nearly 15% (about $33 million) of the $233 million raised nationwide by the
American Red Cross for the Haiti earthquake disaster came from text message donations

 

·         A new Facebook widget implemented this year by the Susan G. Komen foundation generated $25,000 in donations

 

·         Direct mail donations have dropped 40% in four years for the Grand Canyon Chapter of the American Red Cross
